Teresa Hoerl and Yvonne Grünwald met at the Music Academy “Hanns Eisler.” in Berlin. They have played music together in a variety of forms and styles since 2010 in the trio “Les Accordés,” and can be seen even today on stage with their specially developed music, dance and text Chansons Revue.
During their studies when both were young and fellow members of the Yehudi Menuhin – “Live Music Now” (a private association,) they went out into the community to enthuse local people with their music, particularly those people whose circumstances did not allow them to attend regular concerts, like the disabled, senior citizens and children from deprived areas. These experiences bonded the two musicians together into a close friendship allowing them to combine both their multiple talents into a strong partnership.
T e r e s a H o e r l is not only a graduate soprano and master student of many renowned singers including, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Julia Varady and Christophe Prégardien, but she also created and staged their own original musicals in which Teresa both acted and sang.
In addition to numerous concerts Teresa sang in many opera productions including those in the “Concert House Berlin,” the “Brandenburger Theater,” the “Margrave Opera House” in Bayreuth, the “Kleist Theater” in Frankfurt / Oder, at the “Hebbel Theater” in Berlin, on the chamber opera “Castle Rheinsberg” and in the chamber “Opera Brandenburg.”
In 2012 she established the theater ensemble “Kokotterie” in which she was both director and a performing classical singer. Her staging of “Dangerous Liaisons” was listed among others in the Adagio at Potsdamer Platz and Schloss Charlottenburg. She was also for many years First Violin in the school orchestra in Bayreuth, and took piano lessons from early childhood.
Teresa finished her piano exam with distinction upon graduation from the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” at Christiane Klonz.
Y v o n n e G r ü n w a l d began her first accordion lesson at the age of six and won the first prize at the “Jugend Musiziert” (“Young Musicians”) contest just one year later. She graduated from the Hanns Eisler Music University like Teresa.
Yvonne is involved in Film and Television as well as various other projects. She appeared as a solo artist for the opening of the 2009 Young Euro Classic Festival at the Konzerthaus in Berlin. Since 2012 she has been taking Masterclasses with french instructor Frederic Dechamps, a world class accordionist.
2014 Yvonne as a member of the pop band “Elaiza” won the German preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 against the likes of Unholy (“Unheilig”) and the group were then allowed to represent Germany at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen. In the same year Elaiza reached gold-status in Germany with their single “Is it right.” and regularly play national and international concerts.
Together with soprano Teresa Hoerl Yvonne Grünwald founded the duo “Aurata”. They are working on a new stage show with classical music, their own songs and show elements. Beside her main instrument the accordion, Yvonne Grünwald also can play several other instruments like the piano, the ukulele, the accordina and also sings the second voices.

The consistently positive feedback to Teresa Hoerl and Yvonne Grünwald on their classical concerts with arias from different epochs and their concerts with songs from the 20th century encouraged the two musicians now to create their own completely unique Two Women stage program so that classical music would be made available to every generation connecting it with both current issues to their new and original compositions. A dedicated Youtube channel with videos and recordings bring insight into the work and should actively involve people in the construction of the project. (Name of the channel: Duo aurata.)
